Video of the week is back like it never left, and boy do we have a doozy for you this week. Directed by Amos LeBlanc, Young Empires' "The Gates" is a kind of stream-of-consciousness paean to Americana, with what looks like a sense of religious disillusionment at its heart.

Shot 'over 6 weeks in 2 countries and 6 states' with a beautifully grainy, high contrast approach, "The Gates" leaves an indelible mark, which makes sense when one considers that this version is a special director's cut. It also certainly helps that the song itself possesses what would best be described as an anthemic quality. Enjoy, and stay tuned for more. Dillon M. Banda
