Directed by Brian Fairbairn and Karl Eccleston, aka filmmaking duo Brian & Karl, The Staves’ “Steady” is our latest video of the week. The video has a clearly understated elegance that belies the confidence of all involved, with composition and staging that brings to mind the assuredness of an art installation.

And speaking of assuredness, The Staves have crafted yet another gloriously folk-tinged song which, paired with the visuals, carries an old school aesthetic that lends the overall piece an air of timelessness. “Steady” is one of the first two singles off the band’s sophomore album ‘If I Was’, which I believe is out now. Go on, get it while it’s still hot. Dillon M. Banda
