Our latest video of the week, for Josef Salvat’s “Open Season”, is a clever and rather funny deconstruction of the standard music video structure. Helmed by copywriter turned director Ollie Wolf, the video will at the very least draw a giggle out of anyone who’s familiar with both classic and more recent music video tropes (the ‘money shot’ and ‘out of sync shot’ being my personal favourites), while the song itself maintains a breezy, end-of-summer quality that is both legit and radio friendly at the same time. If you’re partial to a nice dose of Aussie indie pop, need a little laugh, and are not yet a fan of Josef Salvat, well, this’ll probably do the trick. Dillon M. Banda
